Opening night, on the new and larger Heritage Park Stage, Capital Lakefair will host Teen Night. Teen Night is sponsored by 911 Driving School, ROXY kxry 94.5, and Shipwreck Beads. Starting at 6:30 PM the High School Battle of the Bands will begin, with ROXY’s own Kris Marshall as Master of Ceremonies. There will also be a Karaoke Contest for High School students that will occur between the changing of the bands. This fun filled evening event will be FREE to all teenagers (incoming freshman thru class of ’07) with student ID; there will be great music, dancing, fun contests and great give-a-ways. Battle of the Bands For all the bands with high school age members, you will be required to send in an audition tape to 94.5 ROXY. This can be done by sending a sample of your music to Lakefair@krxy.com or mailing a tape/CD to 94.5 ROXY, 2124 Pacific Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98506. This must be done by July 3, 2007. You will then be notified of your selection and will be required to attend a ‘Participants’ meeting and have releases signed before the event. 1ST Prize for the Battle of the Bands is a $500 VISA gift card. Karaoke The Karaoke contest will be done in a lottery format. Participants will sign up, select your song and be given a number. Through out the night numbers will be drawn for selection of those who will participate. Prizes for Karaoke winners will consist of gift cards and gift certificates. The area around the stage will be fenced off and only those with student ID will be allowed in, all others will be allowed to watch and listen from outside the fenced area.
