2011 Capital Lakefair High School Battle of the Bands from 94.5 Roxy

94.5 Roxy is now accepting applications for the 2011 Capital Lakefair High School Battle of the Bands.

On opening night of Lakefair, July 13th, bands are competing for a first place prize of $500 from Shipwreck Beads, a second place prize of a $200 gift card from Music 6000, and a third place prize of a $100 Music 6000 gift card.

To be eligible, a majority of the band members must be members of the classes of 2011 through 2014. No one over the age of 21 can perform. If the group is a trio, at least two of the members must meet the criteria.  If the group is a foursome, three of the members must  meet the eligibility requirements.

When submitting an entry, you must identify who appears on the recording and attest that the talent on the recording is the same talent that is performing in The Battle.  Please identify band members by name and include birth date.  Recordings (mp3) can be submitted via email to lakefair@krxy.com.  Submissions can also be dropped off at/or mailed to 94.5 Roxy at 2124 Pacific Avenue in Olympia, WA  98506.

Due to time limitations on Lakefair's opening night, there is a limit of six bands that can be selected to perform.

Send us your best song -- an original or cover -- in any style you desire.  Our panel of judges will determine the top six entries.  Judges’ decisions are final.

Attendance at a pre-Battle meeting on Wednesday, July 6th, is a requirement of participation.  At least one member of each band must attend the meeting.

A release form for each participant must be signed and returned to Roxy prior to the event.  Those under 18 must have the release signed by a parent or guardian.

Entry deadline is the close of business on June 28th.

On the night of the competition, each group is allotted a 30-minute window.  This time-frame covers set-up, sound check, your 20-minute performance, and tear-down.  Under no circumstance can your performance time be longer than twenty minutes.
