When are the fireworks started?

Lakefair's Grand Finale Fireworks are always the closing act of Lakefair each year.

The fireworks are held on Sunday night and begin at approximately 10:15p.m.

Where are the fireworks set off?

The fireworks are staged along the bank of Capitol Lake in the general area of the steam plant.  The are at the bottom of the hill under the state Capital Dome.

How much does it cost to watch the fireworks?

Absolutely NOTHING !  The fireworks are free.

Is there music?

Yes !  The fireworks show is coordinated to a music soundtrack courtesy of KGY AM1240.

Where is a good place to watch the fireworks?

If you are at Lakefair then you have the best seat in the house.  Typically there are many good viewing spots in the downtown area.  Just as long as you are north of the Capital Dome. 

What is probably the very best viewing area is along Deschutes Parkway.

Where is a good place to take pictures?

Depending what you are looking for, the picture taking areas would pretty much be the same areas as described above in "Where is a good place to watch the fireworks?"  

If you want pictures under the fireworks so to speak then stay within the Lakefair grounds by the lake.

If you want pictures from an angle then you would probably want to be somewhere along Deschutes Parkway.
