2022 president's message
Lakefair has been part of our community for 64 years. The past 2 years have been challenging for many, and Lakefair has worked hard to be able to continue to bring you a festival this July. We look forward to bringing you the 65th year of Lakefair to our community.
My name is Ken Ringering, and I have the honor of representing Capital Lakefair as the 2022 President. I look forward to celebrating this season by embracing the theme “Unity in our Community.'' We as Capitalarians look forward to bringing hope and unity of celebration back to our annual summertime festival. We look forward to continuing many Lakefair traditions, and hopefully bringing forward some new activities for you and your families.
My wife Chris and I started volunteering with Lakefair in 2007, in connection with the Fresh Squeezed Lemonade and Mud Pie Stand. Later in 2010, I started volunteering for the Grand Parade and have served as the Parade Chair since 2013. We look forward to representing our region throughout the Pacific Northwest, as we take our float to other communities and invite them to come to visit the South Puget Sound.
We have not been able to hold our time-honored event for the last two seasons and are eagerly planning a return for summer 2022. Please plan on coming down to Lakefair for live music in the park, fabulous food, the entertaining Grand Parade, wonderful arts and crafts, and of course the Funtastic Carnival with games and rides.
Lakefair week begins on Wednesday, July 13th and concludes with the annual Grand Finale Fireworks over Capital Lake on Sunday, July 17th. We look forward to seeing you there!
